  RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE, CIVIC EDUCATION and CITIZEN PARTICIPATION in Central Asia
 
A two-way exchange program between NGO leaders, educators, and education policy makers in the U.S. and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikstan. Legacy International partnered with organizations in both regions to provide a multi-phase program with activities on both continents during a 2 year period of time.

Results of two year project involved more than 19000+ beneficiaries in Central Asia alone!

10 Central Asian participants conducted mini-grants on civic education and engagement at their universities, NGO’s, and their communities. Projects included creating curricula, teaching students to do action projects, starting a Civic Education Center at a university; embedding civic education in existing university courses, holding debates, & training students in election law. 

Action project topics included disseminating clothing and medicine to the poor; promoting tolerance and anti-corruption, targeting environmental and teen health issues and election law and responsibility.
