Legacy Leader Profile: Lina was so inspired by her visits to engineering labs in the United States that she created a drinking fountain powered by a bicycle at her school in Lebanon, Marjaayoun Public High School. At 17 she is already contributing to the betterment of her community. The US Department of State recognized that Lina has potential, she was one of 3 girls from Lebanon in the 2016 TechGirls Program. Legacy gathered women role models, organized coding classes, and built the self-confidence of girls like Lina so they can pursue their dreams.

Since 2012, 138 girls from 9 countries (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Tunisia and Libya, Yemen. Have participated. They have gone on to teach other girls reaching 5000 people in their communities and schools.
